Knowing God

It is important to understand the God we serve so this is how we begin (Jeremiah 9:23-24). We must know him personally, not just know about him.

The RELATIONSHIPS OF GOD:

  1. Adam and Eve – Genesis 2-3 – created, given life, partners, communion
  2. Enoch – Genesis 5:24, Hebrews 11:5 – walked with God

The Trinity: Each Person is Distinct – the Father is not the Son, the Son is not the Spirit, the Spirit is not the Father. The Mystery if the Trinity does not make the theology less true.

  1. God in Three Persons – Genesis 1:26, 3:22, 11:7, Luke 3:21-22, Matthew 3:16-17, 28:19, Isaiah 64:8, Matthew 6:9, John 1:1, 14, 18, Hebrews 1:8, Acts 5:3-4
  2. One God in Three Persons – each has the whole of the godhead. There is no modalism. What is said for one person is true for all.
