It is a worthy goal to take ownership of one’s own spiritual growth. Small groups help us grow in our faith, involving personal study, discussion, and accountability. As we each grow, we strengthen our opportunity to influence those around us toward love and good deeds (Hebrews 10:24). This really is for anyone wanting to dig into a passage of Scripture and seek to apply what was heard this past Sunday.
Some Ideas Include:
- Attend worship and take notes on the pastor’s message.
- Keep these questions handy throughout the week, perhaps leaving the page near the family dinner table.
- Perhaps at a meal, read the Bible passage, and then ask several questions to have a discussion with your spouse or family.
- Bible knowledge is great, but strive to discover the “take away” from this weekend’s passage, asking, “How can I apply this truth to my life?” or “Now that I have heard this message, so what?”
