Proverbs gives some practical instructions on the use of money, although sometimes it is advice we would rather not hear. It’s more comfortable to continue in our habits than to learn how to use money more wisely.
- Be generous in giving (Proverbs 11:24, 25; 22:9).
- Place people’s needs ahead of profit (Proverbs 11:26).
- Be cautious of countersigning for another (Proverbs 17:18; 22:26, 27).
- Don’t accept bribes (Proverbs 17:23).
- Help the poor (Proverbs 19:17; 21:13).
- Store up for the future (Proverbs 21:20).
- Be careful about borrowing (Proverbs 22:7).
- Other verses to study include: (Proverbs 11:15; 20:16; 25:14; 27:13).
